This is the making of my first homemade guitar. I always liked the flying V shape so i figured i'd give it a shot. it started out as a smashed up Dean i got off a friend. It was actually a really good guitar at one point but it had a rough life so to speak. the body was completely smashed and the set neck was cracked so i had to re-do the base of it. i used all the hardware off the old guitar and of course the neck. the body and paint was all done by me. i acutally just set the guitar up myself with 10 guage strings, tuned down a full step, and it plays very well... the action is very low and i do not get any buzz.... i must have been lucky. i am planning on making more, and i have some VERY good resources when it comes to cutting somthing out of steel or acryllic so any ideas now matter how WILD they are WILL be considered and greatly appreciated... this is the first video i have of the guitar since i refinished it. this time i used automotive paint, pinstriped it with black and metalic silver, re finished the frets and fretboard, more steel laser cut outs and more. the first half of the video i explain what was done to the guitar, and the second half i play it to a jamtrack i made from Rhythm Rascal. The beginning of the madness 8/6/09 at Doug's Rock House in Aurora. This was the first song of their set, starting with an Am I Evil teaser and then kicking into their opening song Predatory Martyrdom. Total thrash insanity ensued. This is a side by side comparison for my Tama Bell Brass snare, and Lars Ulrich Diamond Plate snare, with additional smart ass commentary. I dedicate this video to all the "experts" who think they know what the best thing is for MY SNARES! I like positive comments, not negative criticism. I wouldn't go as far to say the snares "should" be choked, but tightened to where they don't sound loose or broken. These are both the 14" x 6.5" dimensions, with two different heads. I actually like the Evans reverse dot. That's next for the Lars snare. Sorry Lars if I mispronounced your name...my next video WILL have the proper "OolRICK" pronunciation. By User: .
