Look at me go! I play DMB! I also screw up sometimes, but hey, it's better to be sloppy in very short and extreme bursts than it is to be somewhat sloppy throughout the whole song, eh?

Well, this was a total challenge. I'm happy with about 70% of it, but even that is an achievement. I captioned all the mistakes I could see myself. I know my tone is shit, I know I made errors, but I had fun. It's a total tune though. Got a good 100 plays! This was also take 7 out of 10 takes (Over an hour and a half of recording it over and over, this was the best one!). These are 10-46 strings, so I had to pick relatively light. End of long description. (PS I was a dick and tried to pretend to start the solo. Woops.)

The Safety Fire take to the stage in a maelstrom of arms, guitars and well-conditioned hair. The Sections EP is a twenty minute glimpse into the multi-faceted style they have created; merging the complex and technical nature of progressive and polyrhythmic metal, with expansive atmospheres and soaring melodies. The Safety Fire formed in London, 2006 creating their own brand of progressive metal, with their latest EP showing the fruits of their labour. This is one of my very favourite solos, done by Martin Goulding, guesting on The Safety Fire's track "Groove in A". I was hoping to be able to adjust the levels so that my guitar was more audible, but I couldn't find how to do it in iMovie. If someone would be kind enough to tell me, that would be awesome! It's really tricky to play, and you can hear a bit of extraneous string noise in parts, but I didn't chicken out and use a string dampener haha. Turns out that in my video I was playing a few things wrong. I've also had a lot of people asking me to play it slowed down, so I decided to kill two birds or whatever. Excuse the sloppiness, I wasn't warmed up and I only did a couple of takes on each since I was in a bit of a rush at the time. My guitar is in D standard in this clip, instead of E standard like the recording, so bear that in mind when learning it.
