www.balconytv.ie The High Kings are an Irish ballad group. They were formed by the same creators as the Celtic Woman phenomenon. Finbarr Clancy (son of Bobby Clancy), Brian Dunphy (son of Sean Dunphy, who represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967), Martin Furey (son of Finbar Furey of the Fureys) and Broadway star Darren Holden make up the group. They recently were featured on PBS during their fund drive special. Darren Holden previously starred as The Pianoman (Billy Joel) in the Broadway musical blockbuster "Movin' Out". He was cast for the role by Joel himself. Holden originated the role for the US National tour which ran from Jan 2004-Jan 2007 and tours of Canada and Japan in 2006. His 2006 release "Roadworks" sold more than 10000 copies in Japan. The High Kings performed on the Irish speaking National TV channel TG4 during the final of Glor Tire 15 April 2009. They sang their popular sing-a-long Irish Pub, accompanying themselves with accordian, guitar, bodhran and banjo, followed by the beautiful a cappella four part harmony of Galway to Graceland! A perfect selection to showcase their versatility.

On the eve of Darren Holden leaving for Tanzania to complete the 'Climb for Kids' Kilimanjaro Challenge in aid of the Crumlin Children's Hospital and National Research Centre, the High Kings performed Whiskey in the Jar on the Late Late Show with 8 year old Adam O'Sullivan. Adam has a brain tumour and is a patient at the Crumlin Hospital and a huge fan of the High Kings. The song is being released as a charity single for Crumlin Hospital and Temple St Hospital.
