- Johnny Tarr - Gaelic Storm
The song Johnny Tarr by Gaelic Storm off of their CD Special Reserve. WARNING: If you do NOT like Celtic music, don't bother with this song. Thanks. Buy song here: www.amazon.com Buy CD here: www.amazon.com Check them out: gaelicstorm.musiccitynetworks.com Lyrics: Lemme tell you a little story about a man named Johnny Tarr He was a hard drinking son of a preacher, always at the bar. Lager from the tap or shots of Paddy from the shelf He could open his throttle and throw back a bottle as quick as the devil himself.... Johnny Tarr And the word got around that Johnny Tarr was no pretender. From Claire to here they'd lock up the beer when Jonny went on a bender. Down at Dickey Mack's, the Rising Sun, or at the Swan. He was drinking by seven, by ten to eleven, well all the booze would be gone!.... Johnny Tarr! And even if you saw it yourself, you wouldn't believe it, But I wouldn't trust a person like me, if i were you. Sure, I wasn't there but I swear i have an alibi, I heard it from a man who knows a fella who says it's true! It was nine in the morning, on a cold and rainy night. Johnny walked into the Castle Bar, looking to get tight. He had money in his pocket, he had whiskey in his eye. He said "Get up off your asses and set up the glasses, I'm drinking this place dry!" Now all the serious boozers, they were soon broken hearted when Johnny finished off six, and he was only getting started. Guzzling down the pints, and knokin' em back like candy. He was lookin' alright to ...

- Gaelic Storm ~ Me and the Moon
One of the songs off Gaelic Storms new album - Rumpus gaelicstorm.musiccitynetworks.com *Lyrics Below* _______________________________ Well you know I gotta say I met a lot of friends this way, when the sun goes down Just hanging with the crew knocking back a brew or two A brew or two! A brew or two or three or four! Chorus: Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! A' quarter to three, we're feeling fine when the sun comes up I'm gonna miss my friend moonshine. Well the dogs and the cats and those raccoon chaps in their furry hats, gathered around. And the rooks and the ravens started to sing and flap their wings Flap sing, flap sing, flap sing Oh! Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! A' quarter to three, we're feeling fine when the sun comes up I'm gonna miss my friend moonshine. Well now the possum screamed as loud as a possum could I said "I understood" when it's all inside you got to let it out. You gotta scream shout! Scream shout! Scream shout! Scream shout! Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! Me and the moon stayed up all night; I brought the whiskey! He brought the light! A' quarter to three, we're feeling fine when the sun comes up I'm gonna miss my friend moonshine. To ...

- Gaelic Storm -- Kiss Me, Im Irish
**added 3/17/09** A little over two years later, this video still shows everything I love about Ireland and one of the best times of my life. Beannachtaí na féile Pádraig and thank you guys so much for your positive comments! I'm glad you love Gaelic Storm and Ireland as much as I do. :0) Welcome to my contest entry! As the video suggests, I'm a New Yorker who was lucky enough to spend some time in Ireland -- and before anyone asks, I did not actually steal that life preserver. I want to thank my amazing friends again for putting up with my project, Gaelic Storm for being generally awesome, and of course, all my love goes out to the man in the picture.

- Gaelic Storm- Johnny Tarr
Over the past couple of years Gaelic Storm has become known to play a few bars of Johnny Tarr in different styles before launching into the familiar version of the tune. This footage shot at Stamper's Pub in Fairview Park in March of '05 shows the Jazz, Rap, Country, Blues, and "Stairway to Heaven" versions. Sorry for any littel gaps in the footage as my camera at the time was the type that only took 30 second clips, which I had to string together. Still a decent little movie, though!

- Gaelic Storm - Drink The Night Away LYRICS
A song by Gaelic Storm from "Special Reserve" album. We set sail at half-past morn, looking for a new tomorrow, don't know when we're coming home, so we'll drink, and we'll dance, and we'll drown our sorrow! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! Now, I don't know what there lies in store, but it's better than this That's why I'm willing , to stake my claim on a foreign shore, whit me spoons, and me fiddle, and half a shlling! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! I dreamt a place, I know it's true where the dolphins play and it's always sunny. The girls are brown and the ocean blue, less work to do, but you make more money! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! I must be off by morning's light, I can hear our bo'sun's whistle blowing, so its one more kiss, and one more fight, and one more song while the beer is flowing! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! When the sky is grey, look out to sea. When the waves are high and the light is dying, well raise a glass and think of me... When I'm home again, boys, I'll be buying! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away! Weigh-hey! Hey Laddie Hey! Weigh, hey, hey! We'll drink the night away!

- The Beggarman - Gaelic Storm
By special request, the song The Beggarman (Beggar Man) off of their 2003 CD Special Reserve. Volume increased 20% Sorry, it's just this picture. Buy Song here: www.amazon.com Buy CD here: www.amazon.com Lyrics: Well I'm a little beggarman, I am a beggarman, I'm a little beggar-beggarman, I am a beggar man X Well I'm a little beggarman and begging I have been for three score or more on this little isle of green. And I'm known from the Liffey from the basement to the zoo, And I'm known by the name of old Johnny Dhu. Of all the trades that's goin' the beggin' is the best, For when a man is tired he can sit down and rest He can beg for his dinner, he's nothing else to do When he comes around the corner with his old rig-a-doo. And I met a little flaxy-haired girl one day 'Well good morning' little flaxy-haired girl,' did I say, 'Well good mornin' little beggarman, how do you do, with your rags and your bags and your old rig-a-doo.' I'll buy a pair of leggings and a collar and a tie, And a nice young lady I will fetch by and by. I'll buy a pair of goggles and I'll color them blue And an old fashioned lady I will make of her too. I've got the sky, I've got the road. I've got the sky... The world is my home. I'm a little beggarman, I am a beggar man, And I slept way down, in a barn at Caurabawn A wet night came on and I slept 'till the dawn With holes in the roof and the rain coming through And the rats and the cats, they were playing peek-a-boo When who should awaken but the ...

- Gaelic Storm - Black is the Color
The coastlines of Oregon...my second home :) When I was little, I used to listen to Gaelic Storm in the car while we drove to the beach on our weekend trips. The songs became woven into the fabric of my memories. Now when I listen to them, they bring back those days of my childhood, those days of the salty breezes, the sandwiches, the tidepools, the sunsets, the driftwood fires, the warm blankets, the stars. Those days when dreams and reality were the same thing, and the world still had magic in it. Photography by yours truly.
